The Camera Loves You
Recently, IGN showed some exclusive gameplay footage of Resident Evil Village captured on a PS4 Pro. We saw Ethan Winters exploring the cellar area of Castle Dimitrescu. He fights off enemies (which may or may not be vampires) using a pistol, shotgun, and knife, similar to how he was equipped in Resident Evil 7. Toward the end of the video, Ethan eavesdrops on Lady Dimitrescu in a cutscene. In the bottom-righthand corner of the screen (you’ll be looking there anyway), there is an option to skip the cutscene or enter photo mode, which is new to the series. It also is going to be fodder for the internet.
It is an understatement to say that the internet has a little crush on Lady Dimitrescu right now. Many would very much like Lady Dimitrescu to give them a little crush, if you follow my meaning. Her height, shape, and well, everything about her has been the object of desire lately, so the fact that Resident Evil Village is going to have a photo mode… Well, we all know exactly what fans are going to use it for. The detail and beauty of the entire game will be overshadowed by a very tall vampire lady.
We do not see the photo mode in action, so it is unclear if it will be confined to what Ethan sees like a screenshot mode or if there will be free camera control like in many other photo modes. We will just have to wait and see. Resident Evil Village will be coming out on May 7th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
