Oddworld Collection Coming to Switch, but No Other Platforms

An Odd Course of Action

This week, Oddworld: Soulstorm will be coming out at long last. It has been plagued by delays for years, but it is finally here. The series has been building up fans for the past couple of years with HD remasters in preparation for Soulstorm, but publisher Microids is also releasing the Oddworld Collection on Nintendo Switch. That’s all well and good, but there really is not anything new that fans on the Switch are getting. These are already games that are on the Switch, which is not even a supporting platform for Soulstorm.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD

The Oddworld series has several games with original stories. There are the Abe games, the Munch games, and Stranger’s Wrath, plus the remakes. Oddworld Collection really only has New ‘N’ Tasty! (Abe’s Oddysse remake), Munch’s Oddysse, and Stranger’s Wrath, all of which came out on the Switch last year. It’s great to have all these games in one cartridge, but a lot of fans may already have them individually. To that end, there are a lot of fans playing on PS4 that have expressed their desire for this collection to come to PlayStation, but Microids has confirmed that they have no plans to make that happen. It would be the perfect platform for it since Oddworld: Soulstorm is only coming to PlayStation and PC.

On the bright side, if you have a Switch and have been sitting on these games, next month will be the perfect time to get them. The price has not yet been listed, but the collection is most likely less expensive than the three games individually. Oddworld Collection will be coming to Nintendo Switch on May 27th.
