Xbox Will Not Be Hosting a Game Announcement-Type Event Soon, Despite Rumors

Sorry, No Official Elden Ring Trailer Here

There has been some speculation revolving a new trailer for the upcoming FromSoftware title, Elden Ring. While a trailer did unofficially leak earlier today, rumors surrounded the trailer believed that the game would officially be shown off during a Microsoft event on March 23, however, that is not true.

Xbox Games Marketing Manager, Aaron Greenberg put an end to the rumors that the game would be shown off during a Microsoft event on his personal Twitter page yesterday.

Greenberg retweeted a press article about the upcoming event potentially sharing the trailer, stating:

“Just to set expectations: this is not happening. There are always things we have in the works, but nothing coming soon that would feature game announcements or world premieres like this.”

So, unfortunately it doesn’t appear as if Xbox will be announcing any new games or dropping “world premieres” in the foreseeable future. However, that doesn’t mean an official Elden Ring reveal isn’t on the way.

There are a number of media outlets and personalities circulating the rumor of upcoming Elden Ring information, including Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier who recently posted to his Twitter page that there is “strong evidence” that the game will be shown soon.

For those unaware of the game, Elden Ring is an upcoming title from FromSoftware. The game will feature writing A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, and is considered the company’s biggest game to date. FromSoftware has previously worked on the Dark Souls series, as well as spiritual successors Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Despite being announced in 2019, not too much is known about Elden Ring to date –hence the overzealous excitement of fans hoping for more information on the title.
