Nintendo Has Announced “Mr. Sakurai Presents Pyra/Mythra” For Next Week

There Will Not Be a New Character Reveal

Following the Nintendo Direct announcement that Xenoblade Chronicle 2’s Pyra and Mythra would be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighter Pass 2 line-up, Nintendo has announced a new Mr. Sakurai Presents exploring the new character.

The The Mr. Sakurai Present Pyra/Mythra will take place on March 4, at 6:00 am PST.  It was announced on Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account:

Tune-in on 3/4 at 6am PT for an in-depth look at the new Super #SmashBrosUltimate DLC fighter, Pyra/Mythra, with Director Masahiro Sakurai. He will also reveal the fighter’s release date!”

Nintendo of America followed up there tweet to further explain that the presentation will be approximately 35 minutes long and will not include a new fighter announcement –setting fan expectations straight.

Pyra/Mythra will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate line-up as the next DLC fighter. Players can effortlessly swap between the two unique characters mid-battle .Though little is known about how the character plays, we did get to see some of their moves in the original announcement trailer.

Pyra’s move set includes moves like “Smash Flare”, “Flame Nova”, and “Prominence Revolt”. While Mythra’s move set includes attacks like “Lighting Buster”, “Photon Edge” and “Ray of Punishment”.

The Mr. Sakurai Presents will give us a further breakdown on the two characters and how they work together as one, so make sure to tune in next week to get all the details on the upcoming fighter.
