Three Episodes of Unsettling Darkness, Arcane Secrets, and Elven Mystery
Neverwinter, the free-to-play MMORPG which takes place in the Forgotten Realms Dungeons & Dragons setting, announced that it will be getting another today. New and old players can return to the magical Feywilds, originally introduced in the game’s very first expansion, and explore the reimagined and revisualized land of Sharandar. Each of the three upcoming episodes will add new features to Sharandar, including a brand-new social hub, new story content, redone adventure zones, new enemies to pick fights with, and a never-before-seen endgame dungeon. It sure looks like a magical experience!
“In Neverwinter: Sharandar, an unsettling darkness creeps across the Feywild and the age-old elven stronghold of Sharandar,” the press release explains. “Brutish creatures kill any foolish enough to enter the lands once held by Malabog the Fomorian King. Deep in the forest, rumors of an ancient fey being, together with scattered bands of Malabog’s minions, seek to conquer Sharandar and seize its arcane secrets.”
Sounds like a solid excuse to go adventuring in one of gaming’s premier magical forests. Who knows what you’ll find between those trees? We have a couple of hints to share, at least for episode one. The Iron Tooth will launch on February 9th for PC and March 9th for consoles, and it will send players into the Ruins of Malabog to investigate the disappearance of an elven dignitary. It will also serve as an introduction–or reintroduction–to the Feywilds, the New Sharandar social hub, the Ruins of Malabog Adventure Zone, and the Vault of Stars dungeon. Epic rewards will be included. We have this in writing. Episode 2: The Soul Keeper and Episode 3: The Odious Court will chronicle the transformation of Sharandar and the struggle of players to repel a sinister new threat. We can’t wait to see what Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have in store for us!
The first episode of Neverwinter: Sharandar launches for PC on February 9th and for PS4 and Xbox One on March 9th. The second and third episodes will be released at a later date.
