CD Projekt RED Deny Another Cyberpunk 2077 Delay

Night City is Calling

Cyverpunk 2077 has had a troubled production history. Since the game was first announced the excitement for the game has been tampered by news of CD Projekt Red’s unethical business practices and numerous delays. The most recent delay came in October, just over a month prior to its November 19th release date – delay of only 21 days, to December 10th, but any delay is bound to cause a lot of drama, and the developers have even been receiving death threats because of it. Still, they confirmed there would be no more delays. Unfortunately, a recent rumor hints that the game could be delayed once again.

The rumors seem to have been sparked by the above tweet. Not much to go on, but it’s worth mentioning that Tiffany Treadmore Inc. specialize in video game leaks – they were the first to leak that E3 2020 would be cancelled, a full week before it happened. It’s also notable that CD Projekt Red have specifically denied the rumors – Doth the developer protest too much?

Speaking to IGN, a rep said:

“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

If the rumor really was unfounded – especially given that the tweet offers no actual evidence – why go against the rule of not commenting on rumors and speculation? Tiffany Treadmore Inc. responded with another tweet showing their evidence – nothing concrete, however, but enough to hint that while a delay isn’t confirmed, there’s certainly rumblings – and it’s important to remember that while CD Projekt Red have claimed that the December 10th release date is firm, they also said the same about the November 19th release.

Do you think there’s any truth to the rumors? Let us know down in the comments, on Twitter, or on Facebook.
