Get a Pikachu With Each of Ash’s Iconic Hats in Pokémon Sword and Shield
Pokémon has been one of the largest franchises in the gaming industry for almost 25 years now. The monster capture game quickly became a massive media conglomerate and quickly received an anime spinoff. The anime follows the life of Ash Ketchum, a young trainer setting out on a journey to become a great trainer and to “Catch ‘Em All”. For over two decades Ash has travelled to many regions with his partner Pikachu, to celebrate this journey, fans of the video game are now able to redeem a special event Pikachu for each of the 8 regions Ash has travelled to throughout his journey so far.
While Ash hasn’t aged a day during his journey, he has gotten an occasional style change, most notably he likes to change his hat with each region he travels to.
Since September 29th, Game Freak has been periodically releasing new special event Pikachu’s–each wearing one of Ash’s iconic hats. The last Pikachu to release was the World Cap Pikachu on October 30th. Now that every Ash Cap Pikachu has been released for a few weeks now, time is quickly running out to claim them all as the event ends on November 30th.
They all can be redeemed by entering one of the special codes into the mystery gift section of Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Here is a list of all of the Ash Cap Pikachu available and the codes to get them:
- Original Cap Pikachu – P1KACHUGET
- Partner Cap Pikachu – 1CH00SEY0U
- Hoenn Cap Pikachu – P1KAADVANCE
- Sinnoh Cap Pikachu – V0LTTACKLEP1KA
- Unova Cap Pikachu – P1KABESTW1SH
- Kalos Cap Pikachu – KAL0SP1KA
- Alola Cap Pikachu – ULTRAP1KA
- World Cap Pikachu – K1NP1KA1855
Bear in mind that these special event Pikachu’s cannot evolve or gigantamax. It is only possible to download one of each Pikachu per save file, so make sure to save them to Pokémon Home if you decide to restart the game. You do not need to own the Expansion Pass DLC to redeem the special Pikachu’s.
Here is a breakdown on how to redeem the codes:
- Load up your Pokemon Sword or Shield save file
- From there, open the in game menu with the X button
- Then click on the Mystery Gift option
- Now, select “Get a Mystery Gift”
- Choose the “Get with Code/Password”
- Finally, type up one of the above codes and you are set!
