Ubisoft Launches Ubisoft Connect

Get Ready to Connect With a New Era of Gaming

As the world gets more and more connected, gaming is right there with it. From online multiplayer to trophies to the rise of streaming, gaming has moved on from being a solitary activity to something that links people all over the world, and Ubisoft are riding the wave, merging their existing programs Uplay and Ubisoft Club into one service, Ubisoft Connect.

Ubisoft Connect will offer a seamless user interface when playing Ubisoft games, letting you instantly connect with other players across platforms, accessing the social features regardless of whether youโ€™re playing on PC or console, as well as expanding on Ubisoft Connectโ€™s loyalty program, letting you earn in-game rewards for completing challenges.

โ€œA decade ago, Ubisoft was one of the first publishers to enhance playersโ€™ experience with more services and social features. We wanted to build upon this legacy to fulfill Ubisoftโ€™s vision of a global community and bring these benefits to all our players,โ€ says Charles Huteau, Ubisoftโ€™s Creative Director on Ubisoft Connect.

New additions to Ubisoft Connect include a newsfeed gathering your friendsโ€™ achievements and activities while they play, and a โ€œSmart Intelโ€ system which offers tips and video recommendations based on your gameplay to help you improve your performance, whether thatโ€™s for your own gratification or to compare against your friends.

By connecting players across platforms, Ubisoft hope that theyโ€™re helping to make cross-play the standard going forward.

โ€œNext-generation gaming goes beyond technological improvements and better graphics. To us, as a creator and publisher, it is about bringing more fluidity and versatility in the experience to have the freedom to play games on whatever device and with whoever you want,โ€ says Stephanie Perotti, Ubisoftโ€™s Vice-President of Online Services.

Ubisoft Connect launches on October 29th, to coincide with the release of Watch Dogs: Legion
