BotW Save File Benefits Players in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Well, It’s No Master Sword

The next Hyrule Warriors game is coming up on its November 20th release date. Now, it’s not Breath of the Wild 2, but it is a follow-up of sorts. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is set a long time before Breath of the Wild and takes place in the same world and timeline. Nintendo is connecting the two games even more than that. Breath of the Wild is considered the best Zelda game and one of the best games in recent memory, so if you have a Switch, it is not unlikely that you have it.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

What Nintendo is doing for Age of Calamity players is that if you have a save file for Breath of the Wild, you will unlock an exclusive item for Link in the new Hyrule Warriors game. [Zelda item soundbyte] It’s the Training Sword! Okay, that was really underwhelming. The Training Sword is not a weapon from Breath of the Wild, it’s just a wooden sword paired with a pot lid as a makeshift shield. Seems like a lousy “thank you” for buying one of the best selling Nintendo games. Who knows? Maybe it has some really OP stats.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is out now on Nintendo Switch, but you already know that. If you have a Switch and don’t have this game, what are you waiting for? Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be out on November 20th exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
