Making Big Moves Against The Ravenous Hordes
The latest Tokyo Game Show conference has brought us a metric ton (or tonne, if you’re feeling fancy) of gaming news. For instance, we’ve been blessed with another Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity trailer! As usual, everyone is looking fit and ready to throw down, including Impa! She’s not three feet tall this time!
The trailer is embedded below, where you’ll see what I mean. I assume that advanced age has done a sort of shrink-wrap job in BoTW. Here, she looks ready to take on the world. The rest of the Divine Beast dance crew gets a chance to show off their moves, as well as some very “cool guy with explosion backdrop” dialogue. Good violence punchlines are essential, you see.
While this is very much a Musou game, the identical graphics engine makes this feel like a proper prequel to Breath of The Wild. Also, the ending is guaranteed to be really sad? Like, I’m unclear how the developers will keep the shadow of the calamity from fully enveloping your playthrough. Thankfully, we don’t have long to wait for answers. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 20th, 2020.
