Of… Course They Aren’t?
A new report regarding the PS5 indicates that PS4 controllers will work on the system. But, only when playing compatible PS4 games. Otherwise, you need that DualSense power to get anything done. This is just one item in a longer list of compatible PlayStation hardware that will or will not work with the new system. Said list is below:
-Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.
-The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headset companion app is not compatible with PS5).
-The DualShock 4 wireless controller and PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work with supported PS4 games.
-Both the PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work with supported PS VR games on PS5.
So, PS4 controllers won’t work with PS5 games, but the racing wheels and flight sticks will? On top of that, we get yet another mention of PSVR. If the PlayStation VR system is coming to the new console, does that mean we’re eventually getting a proper successor? Lord knows the PS5 could handle a bigger, beefier virtual reality setup. As always, we’re left with as many questions as answers. The PS5 is coming sometime this holiday season for an unknown amount of money.
