Ubisoft’s Secret Battle Royale Title Called Hyper Scape Has Been Leaked

More Battle Royale is Inbound

The latter half of the 2010s has been dominated by battle royale games. First starting with the likes of PUBG and Fortnite, the latest title to be added to the long list of blockbuster games in this particular genre is Call of Duty: Warzone. Unquestionably the biggest game in the world right now Warzone has been a resounding success and is pulling in a dizzying amount of money for Infinity Ward and Activision. Viewing this craze from the sidelines, Ubisoft has been working on its own battle royale game themselves. Called Hyper-Scape, this new battle royale title is going to be taking place in a futuristic setting with a beta planned to go live by next week.

Ubisoft

According to the leaks from Rod Breslau, Ubisoft is planning on launching Hyper Scape as early as July 12th. Initially launching for PC only, the console players will get their chance to try it out in late 2020. One can only assume that this new and ambitious title will be available on the Xbox Series X and the PS5. Cross-play will also be included. Breslau added that Ubisoft will be announcing this new game today at an undisclosed time.

From a business perspective, this move by Ubisoft seems to be a safe bet. However, it will be hard for them to elbow their way into the genre when Warzone is so well established and is currently dominating the conscious of the video game industry. Not to mention that most FPS fans have seemed to be exhausted with the futuristic style fighting that Call of Duty has just moved away from. Ubisoft could just be a little too late to the party.

Keep in mind that these rumors could always turn out to false and should be taken with a grain of salt. But if they do turn out to be correct then expect to see a teaser drop later today.
