All Dogfights All The Time, Baby
EA has blessed us with a boatload of data regarding Star Wars Squadrons. Along with a juicy cinematic trailer and a release date, we’ve also got some details on how the gameplay is going to feel when Squadrons actually drops this October. The game is coming to every major system, which includes VR!
A slightly longer breakdown on the official site reveals a slightly more strategic dogfight sim. Missions will be planned out in the briefing room ahead of time. Players will have the ability to divert power to various systems for maximum efficiency. You’ll also be able to modify the ships themselves in order to fly and shoot to your preference. No word on how much of this will be in both single and multiplayer, but we’ll know that soon enough.
Squadrons is coming to PC, PS4, and the Xbox One on October 2nd, 2020. On top of all that, the game is getting full VR support for both PC and PS4. Sure, that might not seem like a big deal to most of you, but flying an X-Wing in VR is kind of the coolest thing ever? PSVR had a very short game which illustrated this point perfectly. I’m truly looking forward to more opportunities to test out this theory when the game launches this Fall. Check out that cinematic trailer below!
