Summer Games Done Quick Organizers Forced To Adapt Due To COVID-19
After announcing in April that this year’s Summer Games Done Quick would be delayed to August, the event’s organizers provided another update on Friday that revealed that SGDQ 2020 will be online-only.
In light of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the on-site portion of #SGDQ2020 and instead proceed with an online-only event, Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online.

The official Games Done Quick website explains that the speedrunning charity event will start on August 16th at 11:30 AM EST and will be broadcasted from the organizers’ studio. SGDQ 2020 is scheduled to end on August 23rd.
The website also confirms that previous game submissions made by participating runners haven’t been disregarded as a result of the event changes but runners will have until June 18th to complete a necessary submission form to have those games be considered by the organizers. Emails containing these submission forms will be sent on June 8th.
