T-Minus Never
This is one frontier that the Nintendo Switch just won’t reach. 2019’s Deliver Us the Moon was released on PC and then on Xbox One and PS4 this year. Last month, Wired Productions and KeokeN Interactive announced that the consoles would be getting physical editions of the game and the Nintendo Switch would get physical and digital editions in August. However, just like space, games are complicated and life gets in the way. Today’s circumstances have forced Wired Productions to cancel the Nintendo Switch port of Deliver Us the Moon indefinitely.
The COVID-19 pandemic is unrelenting. In Wired Productions’ announcement, it reads in part, “The decision has been made based on a number of factors, not helped by the industry-wide stresses that have been felt by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has made every task just that little bit harder.” The pandemic likely has forced Wired Productions’ employees to work from home, making their jobs harder. They will not go into the minute details of what exactly is more difficult, but you can probably fill in the blanks. They also say that if pre-orders for the Switch port were made that customers will be contacted and refunded.
While this sucks as hard as the vacuum of space, the graphical demands of Deliver Us the Moon are not small. The Nintendo Switch has impressed us with some ports, but others have left a bad taste in our mouths. Deliver Us the Moon may have gone either way, but we will never know. Deliver Us the Moon is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The physical copies for PS4 and Xbox One are still slated for an August 14th release.
