Bungie Has No Plans of Making Another Destiny Game

Be Happy With What You Got

Destiny has had been quite a controversial series ever since it first debuted in 2014. While the first game faced a ton of criticism, the sequel has a much easier go of things. It is far from perfect but thanks constant updates and worthwhile expansions Destiny 2 has managed to carve out a relatively large fanbase. Today Bungie announced what the future of their game was going to look like moving forward. With the Xbox Series X and PS5 just around the corner, there were plenty of questions to ask. To summarize, there is tons of new content on the way including many more seasons and expansions. However, it seems pretty clear that Bungie does not intend to make another Destiny title.

Destiny 2 Forsaken

While there might not be a third game to complete the trilogy, it does not mean that Destiny 2 is no longer worth your time. Fans will not be able to hold a physical copy of Destiny 3, but for all intents and purposes, a game’s worth of content will be added to Destiny 2 in the form of DLC. At face value, the idea of not having another game to complete a trilogy might be disappointing but in the long run, you will certainly be saving money.

Bungie still has a lot planned for Destiny 2 so it not the end of the world. There have been countless live service games that have done just fine without having to produce a separate title in order to thrive. Just look at Counter-Strike and Dota. There is a good chance we will all be dead before we see another CS game and there is nothing wrong with that.

If outdated graphics are bothering you on your current set up you can still look forward to playing Destiny 2 on the PS5 and Xbox One.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
