13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Actually Coming West This Fall

The Wait Is Almost Over

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has received a North American release date, something I’d given up hope on a couple of years ago. We first caught wind of this title in 2015, back when the apocalypse was more ‘cool’ and less ‘coming any day now.’ Now we only have to wait until September 8th!

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

If you’ve fully forgotten what 13 Sentinels is all about, it’s mechs plus high school students, with a big serving of Vanillaware graphics thrown in. The latest trailer affirms that such disparate ingredients make a powerful brew. Indeed, they’re more or less perfect for one another. We get a quick glimpse of each protagonist, along with their core motivations going forward.

The game was released in Japan last year, so if you’re desperate to know more, it’s very much out there. Personally, I’ll hold out as long as I can before giving in and going hunting for all the gameplay footage I can scoop up. Even without any Google-Fu,I’m guessing it’s a side-scrolling action RPG held up by a complex interwoven narrative? Vanillaware has built a pretty distinct brand by this point, you see. Feel free to check out the latest trailer embedded below for an idea of what you’re in for this Fall.
