Blast’Em
The support for Star Wars Battlefront 2 might have ended this month, but that does not mean it will be going away quietly. Sony has announced that the second installment in EA’s modern take on the Battlefront franchise will be available to PS Plus users in June. Fans can expect to see this become ready to download on June 2nd.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be joining Call of Duty: WWII this month in a star-studded lineup. While both of these games are close to being three years old they still have a lot to offer. Battlefront 2 has had its ups and downs but thanks to a blizzard of new updates on free DLC’s it has really begun to hit its stride. There are characters, settings, weapons, and vehicles that stretch from the original trilogy all the way up into the modern era. Whether you want to play as Darth Vader or Rey, there is something here for every generation of Star Wars fan.
Like most games made by Dice, Star Wars Battlefront 2 totally nails the atmosphere and aesthetics of the Star Wars universe. The sound design is next level. Playing with a good headset is almost mandatory if you want to experience this game in all of its glory. Make sure that you also grab a couple of your friends so you can really play the way it was meant to be. Teamwork and coordination are key in any Battlefront/Battlefield title.
May’s free games of the month were admittedly lackluster and underwhelming. It would appear that June’s selection is going to be Sony’s way of saying sorry. Hopefully this will serve as a great opportunity for players to get ahold of great new titles as well as kill free time while we are all on lockdown.
