New FPS Game Industria Looks Like it Could Be the Next Big Thing

Everyone Can Appreciate a Little Originality

An announcement trailer for an upcoming FPS title called Industria was released today. At first glance, it looks as though it has taken a lot of inspiration from past FPS giants like Half-Life and Bioshock. Something that is a great sign for any new game. Set in East Berlin during the end of the Cold War, Industria has a setting and atmosphere that is beyond captivating. If you are into story-driven shooters then you will have to check this out.

There is not a whole lot of detail about the game at the moment. This is just the announcement trailer after all. However, the developers of the game had this to say about Industira’s setting. “On the evening of the fall of the Berlin wall, a young woman plunges headlong into a parallel dimension to find her missing work colleague who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. While the checkpoints in East Berlin are still being overrun by crowds of people, Nora escapes from this world, into unknown layers of time and into an unknown fate.”

Other than that, fans can only speculate what we can expect to see in the future. The modern FPS genre is largely dominated by large multiplayer titles like Call of Duty however, that was not always the case. Before competitive multiplayer games gained popularity it was strictly single-player shooters that everyone was after. The aforementioned titles like Half-Life and Bioshock are great examples as well as Halo: Combat Evolved. Hopefully, Industria is able to capture what some of its predecessors did so well and add a couple of its own unique contributions.

The developers Bleakmill are hoping to push Industria out the door sometime in 2021. When it does eventually release it is expected that it will be a PC exclusive.
