2K’s Mafia Twitter Account Sends out Mysterious Tweet

“Family”

After two years of silence, the Twitter account for the Mafia series reawakens. Its last activity was almost two years ago. No one really knows what is going on with 2K’s Mafia franchise right now, but these new signs of life give reason to believe something is up. Today’s tweet is one word: Family. While it is Mother’s Day, it probably has more to do with the series. Anyone who knows anything about the mafia knows that these organizations are often called families, which is reason enough to think that Hanger 13 and 2K might be doing something with the franchise.

Mafia Twitter

The timing of this tweet is curious. The previous Mafia games have usually launched in August or October, so it is not celebrating an anniversary of any of the games. Though if a anniversary bundle or remaster is coming out, this might be the earliest hint at it. We are also approaching the Summer, which is usually full of new announcements and reveals for video games. Despite the mixed feelings toward Mafia III, a fourth Mafia game is something fans would definitely like to see.

Of course, a single tweet of a single word is really nothing to go on. They might just be saying “Hey, we’re still around. Buy our games please.” We will be sure to keep our eye on the Mafia franchise in the near future. Mafia III is out now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
