Quit Your Job. Do It.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is proving to be almost accessible as Minecraft, but has blown up more recently and at an alarming rate. Its uses have been innovated by almost every industry and many public figures. While its use as a fun hobby cannot be overstated, some are looking to make it part of their business, and some serious bells can be made off it. Hong Kong company Yummy House is making moves to do just that. The food and condiment maker is also making a pretty solid offer to players.
According to Quartz, Yummy House has posted a recruitment ad looking for a “gaming specialist”. The job of this gaming specialist is to promote Yummy House products within the game using a number of creative means. The ad calls for a person with creativity, art skills, and has “played Animal Crossing for over 100 hours.” I feel like there are quite a few people who have that last one in the bag. The job allows for working at home and only requires a check-in with the company a few times a week.
So far, over 230 applications have been received, mostly from within Hong Kong. If you live in an English-speaking country, don’t be discouraged. English is one of Hong Kong’s official language, but if you also know Cantonese, that’s also good. You might even get a job at the embassy. The job would pay about $2,580 USD a month. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
