Jesus Christ That’s Jason BourneÂ
The producer behind all five of the Jason Bourne movies is very enthusiastic about making another contribution to the series. Frank Marshall, the mastermind behind the entire franchise has been very adamant about making another Bourne film. Originally debuting in 2002, the first three Jason Bourne movies were instant classics and largely beloved by most people who watched them. The most recent two attempts to reboot the brand have not been all that successful but it looks like Marshall has not given up hope just yet.
Marshall is currently working on the fifth Indian Jones movie but it appears that after that project is completed he wants to return to his roots. “I do like the Bourne series, and I do think an opportunity for different filmmakers to come in now. So, I’m hoping that we can find a new story for Bourne and a new filmmaker. We are looking,” Marshall said in an interview with Collider. Marshall also made is quite clear that Matt Damon, the original Jason Bourne would have nothing to do with another movie. It is not clear why Damon is staying away from this venture but it is a safe assumption that after four separate appearances he would want to work on something else.
The Bounce Legacy was the one stand out movie that starred Jeremy Renner rather than Damon. Although it should be mentioned that Bourne Legacy is largely considered a low point in the franchise. However, it is not like Hollywood to not beat a dead horse so we will have to wait and see if this ever comes to fruition.
