Play Them While You Still Can
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based service that provides its customers with an enormous catalog of games to play. These titles could range from mega blockbusters or underground indies games. There is truly something for everyone. However, by the end of April, users are going to have to have to say goodbye to a couple of big names like Fallout 4 and Wolfenstein: The New Order. The removal of these games has been justified by Xbox in order to make room for newer games like the up and coming Gears Tactics.
Fallout 4 is not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination but it has not seemed to have the lasting impact that games like Skyrim and New Vegas had. Parts of the more hardcore RPG elements were watered down in order to appeal to a more casual audience. This is most noticeable when it comes to dialogue options. Fallout 4 held the hands of players much more frequently and at times it felt as though your actions did not have consequences. Something that was a staple of Fallout 3. It should be noted that while the game’s narrative might have been underwhelming, the combat was excellent and certainly the most refined and polished of the series.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is one that could be described as underappreciated and underrated. This game is a perfect blend of old and new school FPS mechanics. It is not common that reboots of older franchises go very well but Bethesda has somehow made it work. The story and atmosphere are interesting and compelling and the gunplay is tight and super rewarding. You should play both of these games if you have the chance.
Both Wolfenstein: The New Order and Fallout 4 are going to be available on the Xbox Game Pass until April 30th.
