It’s Just as Ridiculous as You RememberÂ
A remastered version of Saint’s Row: The Third has finally been announced by Deep Silver. Rumors have been floating around the internet for a few weeks and now it has all come together. The third Saint’s Row game was certainly the most memorable of the franchise as it marked a huge 180 for the direction of the series.
The first two Saint’s Row games were all somewhat serious. Much like GTA, the games had lighthearted undertones and largely were based on a world that was a satire of modern life. But the drama surrounding the various gangs and characters were all there. There were still a lot of dark and intense moments. However, in an attempt to be taken seriously and portray a world that was much too similar to Grand Theft Auto, Saint’s Row was never really able to make a name for itself. That was of course until the third game arrived.
Saint’s Row: The Third has got to be one of the most over the top and outrageous games ever made. Just think of all the weird and wacky moments that exist in GTA and crank it up to eleven. There is probably not a single moment in the game that is meant to be taken seriously. It is all cheap gags and laughs and people loved it.
The remastered version is going to come with a lot of content too. All of the 30 separate DLC will ship alongside the game. In addition, there has also been a significant graphical upgrade. The enhanced visuals really do make a difference. Sometimes it is easy to forget that Saint’s Row The Third is almost nine years old.
Saint’s Row: The Third Remastered is going to be available on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 22nd, 2020.
