Ed Boon Teases “a Lot of Surprises” for Mortal Kombat 11

“Surprises”

There should be a word invented for that point in a video game’s post launch life where all the announced DLC has been released, but fans are waiting for more to look forward to. That is the exact point we are at with Mortal Kombat 11. Last week, at Final Kombat 2020, we were treated to Spawn’s gameplay trailer, the red band trailer for Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, and a new Mortal Kombat champion. At this event, Ed Boon also announced that there is more to look forward to for the game.

Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack

At the event, Boon said, “Thank you everybody for supporting Mortal Kombat. We love to do these reveals at these events as a thank you for all of this support for all of these years. There is a lot more to come with Mortal Kombat as well, this isn’t the end of the whole support for this game. We’ve got a lot of surprises in store.” Anyone who has kept up with Mortal Kombat news lately can probably put together an answer as to what he meant. It is most likely more DLC. There have already been rumors of a Kombat Pack 2.

Previous datamining ventures have suggested that Fujin, Sheeva, and Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise will be part of the Kombat Pack 2, or they were perhaps meant to be part of the first one, but were shelved for whatever reason. Any other “surprise” would be a disappointment compared to more characters, but I am sure Ed Boon knows that. Mortal Kombat 11 is available for PC, Stadia, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
