Amnesia: Rebirth Announced for Autumn 2020 Release

Put on Your Brown Pants

YouTube is filled with horror game Let’s Plays of people jumping out of their seats and screaming, both authentically and for performance, but the games they play are genuinely scary. One such series that earns a high rate of scares is is the Amnesia series. Both The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs are considered top tier horror games by Frictional Games, and now they’re at it again. Today, Frictional Games released a trailer and announced Amnesia: Rebirth. This new installment appears to relate closely to the events of the first game.

Amnesia: Rebirth

According to the official announcement by Frictional Games, Amnesia: Rebirth will follow a new character named Tasi Trianon in the Algerian desert. Fans of the original game may recall that the protagonist Daniel visited the Algerian desert on an archaeological expedition before the events of the game. This suggests that Rebirth may be taking place before The Dark Descent. This has not been confirmed, but it seems quite likely. The announcement trailer overhears a radio transmission between a group of lost explorers or a crew of some sort and another group that has gone to get help. Similar events also take place according to Daniel’s diary entries.

The trailer closes with an Autumn 2020 release, but no specific date is mentioned. Amnesia: Rebirth will be available on PS4 and PC. You can add it to your Steam wishlist now.
