Animal Crossing: New Horizons Will Have At Least 383 Villagers

More Than Ever (is Anyone Surprised?)

As the hype for Animal Crossing: New Horizons builds with the upcoming release date on March 20, we are getting more information about the game. On Twitter, the Animal Crossing character, Tom Nook wrote a sweet message with some not-so-subtle hints thrown in.

Here’s what he said: “Thank goodness it’s Friday, as they say! Yes, yes! We’re busy sending information about the deserted island getaway package to all of our Nook’s Homes customers. That’s a whopping 383 letters… You can be sure we’re pouring our heart and soul into each and every one!”

Well, unless Nintendo is trying to subvert any sort of expectations, I think we can confirm that means there will at least have 383 villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. We’ll most likely see more, especially after DLCs. This will put New Horizons on top of the population count, as New Leaf had launched with 333 villagers. Putting a bit of a spin to the franchise, you won’t be moving into a community in New Horizons. Instead, you are sailing to a private island to start your own community from scratch! Of course, all the mainstay mechanics will be returning, so you will just have more things to play around with.

If you are a fan of Animal Crossing, make sure to keep an eye out for the amazingly cute limited edition Switch coming out with the game to celebrate its release. It will depict Tom, Tommy, and Timmy Nook hanging out together atop an island. I especially love the colours, pastel blue and green, it’s very calming and soft.

Considering that we are probably going to get all the old favourites returning, is there any new character you like to see? A favourite animal that isn’t represented? Perhaps a personality? Let us know!
