Silent Hill Art Director Teases a New Project on Twitter

Hard to Stay Silent About This

When someone talks about a horror game and says, “This is a lot like Silent Hill” that’s a big compliment. Not only does it praise whatever game you’re talking about, but it is a testament to how iconic and influential the Silent Hill series is. This is largely in part to the style and look of the games. You can thank Masahiro Ito for that. He was the art director for Silent Hill 2 and 3. If you liked his work in those games, you will be happy to know that the Silent Hill art director is working on something new.

Silent Hill Art

On Twitter, Ito did away with all the cryptic messages we see too often regarding games. He said very plainly, “I’m working on a title as a core member. I hope the title won’t be cancelled.” He’s dripping with optimism and excitement. Ito has done a lot of work with Konami, such as on the Silent Hill franchise and more recently in Metal Gear Survive. It would be very exciting if Hideo Kojima reached out to Masahiro Ito to work on his rumored upcoming horror game. On the heels of Death Stranding, it would make sense that Kojima might be in the early stages of his next game.

Way back in 2012, before P.T., Ito was asked if he would work with Hideo Kojima on a Silent Hill game, and he said that he would. We all know that we were robbed of Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills back in 2014, so perhaps the stars are aligning once more. It would also make sense out of the “I hope this title won’t get cancelled” part of his tweet. Regardless of whether or not his is a Kojima production, be sure to keep an eye out for it.
