New Smash Ultimate Character Is Yet Another Fire Emblem Fighter

DISAPPOINTED!

You’ve heard of Avengers vs X-Men, Batman vs Superman, and Marvel vs Capcom. Now introducing Smash Bros. vs Fire Emblem! At least that’s what it’s shaping up to be. We were kind of already suffering from Fire Emblem fatigue in SSBU, but now the anticipation a new Smash Ultimate character has been dulled by yet another Fire Emblem character. Byleth,  from Fire Emblem: Three Houses was announced as the next fighter and first character for the second Fighters Pass. As Byleth appeared in their debut game, players will have the option of playing as either the male or female form by switching costumes.

Smash Ultimate Character

There had been rumors and even confirmation by some voice actors that other characters would be coming to Smash. Alongside these characters was Byleth, so this announcement isn’t really a surprise. In addition to Byleth, a new stage from Fire Emblem: Three Houses will accompany them. The Fire Emblem stages that are already in the game will also get new music tracks added to them. If you’re sick of Fire Emblem characters, and all of their non-defining characteristics, there will be other additions to the game.

Some Mii costumes have been announced to be arriving as well. From Assassin’s Creed, an Altaïr costume will be available for the Mii Swordfighter, an X costume from MegaMan X, a MegaMan.EXE costume, and Cuphead costume for the Mii Gunner. There will also be a Rabbids hat for Miis as well, all of them will can be purchased starting on January 28th along with the second Fighters Pass. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
