The sportswear titan has just wheeled out one of the most ambitious projects in the last 50 years. A gaming sock.
What is a gaming sock and why would I need one? Great question. According to Puma, they have designed a cutting edge, state of the art sock that will provide both comfort and grip to gamers around the world. Now you won’t slide around the floor when you go to throw your controller at the TV screen.

The new sock is called Active Gaming Footwear. The apparent target audience is supposed to be eSports players or those who are aspiring to become professionals within their respected games. These socks can be used for both indoor and in-area use. Grip is key when you’re going up on stage to play in front of millions of people.
To add to the cringe and confusion, according to Puma the socks have four different modes that the user can “activate”. These modes are seek mode, attack mode, cruise mode, and of course, defense mode. But how does someone activate a sock? Well, gathering from what Puma has Tweeted out. It looks like these different “modes” are simply just different sitting stances.
Puma is a very well known and respected brand so the price tag on these new gaming socks are pretty steep. A pair is going to cost you around $160 (USD). But then again, looking good isn’t cheap.
