Coming Dec. 20th, 2019
With the imminent arrival of a new Star Wars film comes a sparkling tide of tie-in releases. First there was Jedi: Fallen Order, and soon we’ll be getting a new edition of Star Wars Battlefront II. Or at least, that’s what a leak from a price tracker website has informed us.
Dubbed the Celebration Edition, this new version of Battlefront II will come with “over 350 cosmetic customization items – including the latest STAR WARSâ„¢: THE RISE OF SKYWALKERâ„¢ Appearances for Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren.” Just in time for that hot new movie, in other words. There’s no word on the tracker site where they got this info, but the writeup suggests a retail listing gone rogue. You know, that problem we keep having lately.
Concerned that none of this matters to you, the discerning Star Wars fan? Admittedly, Battlefront II was met with a less-than-stellar reception from fans. The deluge of microtransactions and loot boxes were a blight on the consumer landscape we’ve yet to recover from. Alternately, the devs at EA Dice have been plugging away at this game for almost two years now. It’s quite possible that all those updates have produced a pretty decent FPS experience, maybe. If the leak is correct, which it almost certainly is, the Celebration Edition of Battlefront II will be out on December 20th, 2019.
