They Were Kind Enough to Give Us a Cool Launch Trailer Too
Chances are if you have even been sent down the YouTube VR rabbit hole, you have seen Boneworks. This VR game has been in development for what felt like forever but now it has officially launched. Made by a company called Stress Level Zero, Boneworks is hoping to bring something new and exciting to the VR scene. While all VR games focus around some sort of physics engine, Stress Level Zero has something special to offer players.
The physics in Boneworks are truly something to behold. Everything from the gunplay to the complex puzzles all move with a sort of fluidity that has not really been seen before. The firearms are highly detailed and work the same way that Pavlov would. Full reloading animation as well an abundance of detail on each weapon. However, guns are not everything, close combat also plays a large role in the game and it looks fantastic.
The most impressive thing about Boneworks are the Portal like puzzles that the player will have to workaround. While the weapons are highly interactive, so is the environment around you. Players will have a chance to drive different vehicles, climb across factory ceilings, and use inanimate objects in combat. If you want to crush a bad guy with a computer monitor you can totally do that.
Boneworks is an FPS first and foremost but it is what you can do when there isn’t a weapon in your hand that really makes this game stand out from the rest. If you have ever been curious about getting your hands on a VR system, now is the time to give it a shot. As impressive as this game is, the technology is only going to get better from here.
