The Flower Lady
Fans of the OG Final Fantasy VII know about Aerith Gainsborough, the tragic waifu. But fans that were maybe too young to have played it or missed it on the PlayStation might not. So Square Enix released a short Final Fantasy VII Remake teaser focusing on her. It’s not a fully explored trailer like the one focused on Cloud at the Game Awards, but hopefully it shows the new folks that even though Aerith may be look like just a regular girl, she isn’t a pushover and can hold her own in battle.
The teaser doesn’t show us any clips that we haven’t already seen in previous trailers, but it’s more like a character profile. It begins with her name and occupation: Flower Merchant, which I believe is called Florist, but whatever Square Enix. The teaser also hits us with a supposed catchphrase or quote: “It’ll be fine, right?” You know, the thing she always says that I cannot for the life of me remember her saying. A more memorable quote of hers would probably be when she threatens to rip Don Corneo’s balls off. And to answer her question, no. It won’t be fine, especially not for you, Aerith. Sorry.
Aerith is a flower seller who lives in the slums of Midgar, and has the ability to hear the voice of the planet…

If you’re looking for new footage, you’ll be disappointed, but perhaps we will see more of these focused on the different classic party members like Barret and Tifa. Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on March 3rd for PS4.
