But Can We Play as Old Lando?
As we all know, The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters next month. The Star Wars trilogy will come to an endโฆ again. With such a big franchise hitting such an important moment, all parties even the least bit involved have to capitalize on this. Video games with regular updates are perfect for this kind of thing. That is why Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be getting in on this. The Rise of Skywalker DLC will be coinciding with the release of the movie. Unfortunately, it messes with the regular monthly update cycle.
EA Diceโs global community lead Ben Walke took to Twitter to explain whatโs going on with the new content. Kinda. In his tweet, Walke explains that Novemberโs monthly update will be postponed until early December. After that, another update will arrive in December. He goes on to say that nothing is being cut from any update and that โDec will be a celebration month for us, headlined by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker contentโ. Itโs unclear what exactly that last part means, but it may indicate that December will be a bigger content update than what fans are used to.
Weโve also got some news regarding our content updates.

Episode XI will more than likely put an end to everything the major movies have led up do ever since the first film debuted in 1977. Unless the emperor comes back again or something. The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi both had updates for the first Battlefront game prior to the release of the movies. Perhaps the first update that was meant for November will have The Rise of Skywalker content weโre looking for. No actual release dates for these updates are given though. Star Wars Episode XI will be out in theaters on December 19th.
