Rockstar Has Fixed Launch Bug For Red Dead Redemption 2

The Launcher is Now Fixed

The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 launched this week but it immediately suffered from a number of technical issues. To the dismay of fans everywhere, a lot of players were experiencing crashes and bugs on launch day. While it was not surprising that RDR2 was melting some of the older PC rigs, there were a lot of problems with Rockstar’s new PC launcher. Fans had reported that Red Dead would crash instantly after being started up from the launcher. As much frustration as this caused players, Rockstar vowed that they would work endlessly in order to fix the problem at hand. And this morning they did just that.

According to the patch notes for the most recent update, Red Dead Redemption 2 was clashing with a lot of anti-virus software on people’s computers. For whatever reason, it was not allowing the game to launch.

Along with the bug fixes, Rockstar has also added a couple of new things into the game. It is their way of saying sorry to their fans.

A new Legendary Bounty has been added to Red Dead Online:

  • Etta Doyle

Weekly Collectible List – Fortune Teller’s Collection:

  • Ace of Cups
  • Ace of Wands
  • Absinthe

Four new emotes have been added to the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalog:

  • Gentle Wave
  • Applause
  • Thumbs Down
  • Hush Your Mouth

While these additions to the game are by no means game-changing, it is nice to see. Most developers would not respond in the same way that Rockstar has. As in ignoring the issue altogether. No developers are perfect, but some are definitely better than others. It is behavior like this that makes Rockstar a top tier company in the eyes of many video game enthusiasts.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
