Modern Warfare Matchmaking Is Taking Some Hits

Doesn’t Play Well With Others

Some online games are arranged differently than others; some just throw all the players in depending on their game-type preferences (i.e. Ranked, Casual), and some group players according to other factors. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare matchmaking is skill-based. This means that if you join an online game, you will be placed with other players that are close to your player level or players that are generally as good as you. Unfortunately, there is a vocal group of players that are unhappy with skill-based matchmaking and are hoping that Infinity Ward will consider changing this feature.

Modern Warfare Matchmaking

This displeasure from skill-based matchmaking is taking form on Reddit. As we all know, CoD players have a reputation of being the most respectful and rational community. A particularly funny post was made referencing skill-based matchmaking with a Parks and Rec meme. This group of fans feel ignored by Infinity Ward because their concerns are not being addressed. Sifting through the comments, it seems that players are unhappy to be playing against other players that are as good as them and call it being “punished”.

Of course, I would also love to only play against people I can dominate and pad my K/D ratio with, but that’s just not how the world works. As some basketball player probably said, “If you want to be the best, you got to beat the best,” or something along those lines. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
