Kojima Would ‘Start From Zero’ on a Death Stranding Sequel

Kojima Talks Death Stranding 2

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding launched earlier this month to somewhat divisive reviews but positive initial sales. Now, in a recent interview with Vulture, Kojima explained how he’d go about making a sequel.

Death Stranding

According to Vulture, Kojima is interested in working with Death Stranding star Norman Reedus (who played the protagonist Sam Porter Bridges) on another game, possibly a sequel to his latest game. He also said that for the sequel he “would start from zero.”

What could that mean? Well, Vulture didn’t provide any more details. Maybe Kojima meant he’d set the sequel really far into the future after the first game or design an entirely new gameplay loop? Notably, Kojima has also said recently that he wants to make a horror game so it’s possible that the sequel could be more horror-focused.

Whatever Kojima means by starting from scratch for a Death Stranding sequel, he’s currently working on a new game.

As for his latest game, it’s launched for PS4 and will come to PC in the upcoming summer. Check out our review of the PS4 version if you want to learn more about one of the weirdest games ever made.
