First Season of Fortnite Chapter 2 Will be Extended Into February 2020

Season 1 Isn’t Going Anywhere

It was only a month ago when the Fortnite world was turned on its head. In a very sneaky PR move by Epic Games, they had decided to make it seem as though Fortnite was finished for good. This was of course not the case, but it did have a surprising amount of people fooled. What came next was Fortnite Chapter 2. The new take on the battle royale giant has been a massive success. So fans should not be upset that Chapter 2 is going to be sticking around until February of next year.

Epic Games has a lot planned for Fortnite in December. Christmas and other holiday-themed skins and biomes are always popular this time of year. Epic Games said earlier today, “With a new year comes new beginnings. Last year we celebrated 14 Days of Fortnite over the holidays. This year we’ve got even more content for you to unwrap, including new game features, free rewards and a live experience that you won’t want to miss. To prepare for all the new holiday-themed updates, we will be extending Chapter 2’s first season into early February. Get ready for winter!”

This large gap between seasons is largely due to people needing time off. It might not feel like it, but developers are people too and need their beauty sleep just like the rest of us. They have had a very busy year.

For a while, it looked as though Fortnite was starting to lose momentum, but then pulled Chapter 2 out of a hat and now things could not be better for the battle royale phenom. Fortnite is easily one of the biggest games this decade. It looks like it is going to say that way for the foreseeable future too.
