Expect to See Age of Empires IV Revealed Tomorrow at XO19

Age of Empires IV is Just Around the Corner

Age of Empires IV has been in development for what seems like decades at this point. There have been countless times where it seems as though fans will get a glimpse of AOE 4 only for the reveal to get pushed back. But his time, it seems legit. It was promised months ago that Age of Empires IV would be unvieled at XO19 and now it appears at though that come to fruition.

Age of Empires IV feature

Microsoft has taken to Twitter just to mess with us a little bit loner by dropping a short gif of what looks like a trailer. It isn’t much, but it’s the most that we have seen so far.  Microsoft and Relic have been very secretive about this game. There is almost no information about it aside from very sketchy rumors online.

Age of Empires has been out of action since the mid-2000s. Whenever Age of Empires IV does release, it will mark well over a decade since the last major title, Age of Empires III came out in 2005.

Age of Empire is one of the most beloved RTS games of all time. Relic definitely has a tough act to follow. To this day, there is still a very passionate and loyal following of the series. Making sure they keep the original formula intact while simultaneously adding new and modern features is going to be a major challenge. Nerds are a very hard group of people to satisfy.

Regardless of what is shown tomorrow, it is a step in the right direction. For a while, it felt like the game was never going to materialize. A release date is far from confirmed. But there is a good chance that Age of Empires IV will launch sometime in 2020.
