He’s the Internet’s Boyfriend, Friendo
Cyberpunk 2077 has had massive hype for a while. Then when Keanu Reeves’ involvement was revealed, that hype reached critical mass. The internet’s boyfriend, plus one of the gaming community’s most anticipated titles? Who could resist? Well, apparently we may all have to resist. CD Projekt RED games like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are known for their “romantic features” and the upcoming game boasted a wider variety of options. Unfortunately, Keanu Reeves AKA Johnny Silverhand will not be a Cyberpunk 2077 romance option. I guess we will never know how he really got the name Silverhand.
Apparently, I’m not meant to date the lead singer of a band ever. This information was revealed during an interview at the Tokyo Game Show 2019 with the game’s level designer Max Pears. Since Johnny will be a pivotal character in the game, an intimate relationship with him might quickly become “complicated.” Even in digital form, Keanu Reeves will continue to be the perfect, yet unattainable partner. We lonely people will just have to make due with our homemade Keanu dolls.
Still, there are plenty of proverbial fish in the sea. CD Projekt Red promises that we will have a ton of options in terms of romantic pursuits. The binary gender options have been removed from Cyberpunk 2077 and we will not be limited to heterosexual relationships, so you can put anything anywhere. Cyberpunk 2077 will be out on April 16th, 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Google Stadia.
Will you still long for Keanu? Let us know in the comments below.
