High Praise From Naughty Dog
Neil Druckmann the lead Director for the highly anticipated Last of Us 2 tweeted about Gears of War 5. Druckmann said that the upcoming game was “gorgeous.” He also reached out and publically thanked Rod Fergusson, the head of Coalition Studios for his advanced copy. It turns out that getting free games is another perk of being a big name in the video game industry. In the tweet, Druckmann showed a somewhat blurry picture of what looks like JD Fenix.
Druckmann however, has a lot of work ahead of him. The Last of Us 2 has been in development for what seems like decades now. We know that it is coming for sure, just not when. Sony has not offered any sort of idea of when a release day might be for the game. It has appeared that Naughty Dog has run into the issue of the next generation of consoles. It would be quite the pain for Druckmann and company to release such a massive game on the PS4, only to have to make another version for the PS5 only a couple of months later.
This has, of course, lead to rumors claiming that The Last of Us 2 is going to be a launch title for Sony’s new console. Microsoft is launching with its flagship franchise Halo, so Sony is going to have to answer with something just as big. But then again, this is pure speculation. For all we know, we could be waiting another three years for a release date.
However, on the bright side, Gears of War 5 is only nine days away! Make sure you clear your schedule for September 10th. Gears 5 is going to be arriving with an exciting campaign as well as tons of new content for its famous multiplayer modes. Get hyped!
