Borderlands 3 Is The Fastest-Selling Game 2K Has Ever Published
Borderlands 3 has been a massive commercial success and managed to sell more than 5 million units within the first five days of launch, publisher 2K announced Monday.
According to the announcement, Borderlands 3’s sales have resulted in the Borderlands franchise making more than $1 billion in net bookings. Also, “more than 70 percent of consumers” bought the game digitally within the first five days of the game’s release.
Notably, the announcement pointed out that the game “broke pre-order records with the Epic Games Store” and “PC sales of the title through the Epic Games Store have been incredibly strong.” It sounds like the game’s controversial timed exclusivity on the Epic Games Store didn’t have a negative impact on its PC sales.

“Borderlands 3 is the battery-acid fueled, over the top explosive experience we had hoped it would be,” the reviewer wrote. “It hits almost every mark of what we want out of a sequel with an exemplary new cast, returning favorites from across the series, and staying true to the franchise at its core. This is still a title full of psychopaths trying to murder anything that moves with bazillions of guns, but after the first few hours, you can see how the series has grown.”
