Crystal Dynamics Has Unveiled Badass “Heroics” Gameplay Mechanic for Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers Set to Have Sweet Gameplay Mechanic Called “Heroics”

A couple of days ago we got to see a bit more into Captain America’s profile and now, Crystal Dynamics has revealed a brand new Marvel’s Avengers gameplay mechanic called “heroics”. They even dropped a brief snippet on Twitter showcasing Captain America’s heroic move and it looks pretty damn powerful.

So what is this heroic gameplay mechanic? According to the developer these are special attacks that each of the heroes can unleash on their enemies. Further to this, each of the Avengers is set to have three heroics. One for support, assault, and as an ultimate. All of these will also operate on a cooldown timer. As you can probably imagine, support heroics are something that benefits the entire team while assault heroics are individual attacks. The ultimate heroics are much like any other games that have an ultimate move; it’s an attack that packs a massive punch and can change the course of the entire battle.

At this time the heroics for all of the Avengers, with the exception of Captain America, are unknown. We have learned that Captain America’s support heroic will mark all enemies hit as priority targets and teammates will be granted increased damage and health regeneration when attacking these opponents, and his assault heroic sees the hero throw his shield, heavily damaging up to five opponents. As for his ultimate heroic move, you can check it out for yourself in the video below.

Heroics can be customized and improve to adjust to various playstyles by way of different gear and a skill progression system. Marvel’s Avengers is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia and is set to be released on May 15, 2020.
