Will We See an LA Noire Comeback?
LA Noire tends to be one of the more overlooked games that Rockstart has produced. Aside from a handful of memes that have spawned from the game since its initial 2011 release, there is very little mention of the game. LA Noire was a very ambitious detective game that brought you into the world of 1940s Los Angeles. The game featured a brand new facial recognition system that was able to capture hyper-realistic facial expressions and emotions. At the time it was groundbreaking.
LA Noire was nothing like Red Dead Redemption or Grand Theft Auto. This time you were on the other side of the law. The gameplay was drastically different too. There were seldom any gunfights or physical altercations. The game was met with mixed reviews and since then largely faded into obscurity.
However, it appears that the PEGI rating board might have jumped the gun a bit and revealed that LA Noire is making a triumphant comeback. PEGI suggested that a game titled L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files will be released December 8, 2019, on PlayStation 4. This game will be rated M for mature just like the original game.
LA Noire VR was originally released for the PC in 2017. So if the game is coming to the PS4 then we should expect more of the same. Gameplay from the VR version does not look fantastic. But that does not mean that there have not been any improvements made for the PS4 release. If the release ever happens at all. This is all just a rumor at this point.
But it does look promising. Solving crimes and interrogating people through VR is always going to be a fun time. This video here makes it seem like a must for anyone who has VR.
