Gearbox Software Wants Fans and Newcomers Alike to Feel at Home with Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 Set to Be Accessible to Both Newcomers and Series Fans

Borderlands 3 is just a few weeks from it’s anticipated release and after seven long years since the launch of Borderlands 2, fans of the series are dying to jump back into the action. But what about newcomers to the franchise? Gearbox Software has some good news: the game is set to be equally accessible to both series fans and newcomers alike.

Considering all the hype that surrounds the release of Borderlands 3 and the time that’s passed since Borderlands 2 was released, there’s surely a whole new group of players who are curious about the franchise and want to dive in. That said, without playing the previous games, sometimes newcomers find the experience of jumping into a franchise a few games late to be daunting. According to Gearbox Software, this worry shouldn’t exist for anyone wanting to play the latest and upcoming Borderlands title as it will be accessible for all.

In a recent interview with GamingBolt Senior Producer for Borderlands 3, Anthony Nicholson, had this to say, “We have several different options and several different modes that the guys on the game field team— we actually have our own department within the department that works on accessibility, because it’s really important to us. But as far as newcomers coming into the series, it’s a first person shooter. If you’ve ever played a first person shooter game then you’ll feel right at home.” He continued, “The recruitment walk-through that we did with Claptrap in the beginning of the game, we want to make sure that is stepping people through and showing them how to play the game. We want to make sure that even if you’ve been here since 2009 or you’re playing for the first time in 2019, that you can pick the game up and understand that we’re giving it everything that you need to be successful and really enjoy the experience.
