The Roadmap Is Outlined. Kinda.
Part of deciding to purchase a game often includes its longevity; what else is there besides the base experience? This often means DLC, multiplayer, other bonus features. Developers like to let fans know ahead of time what they are in for. A roadmap of the game’s future paints a pretty clear picture. The Borderlands 3 roadmap was released yesterday, as it comes out on September 13th. Unfortunately, it’s neither as detailed nor as lengthy as, say the Rage 2 roadmap from May, but you can rest assured there will be more to come.
This roadmap does not cover everything there is to come for Borderlands 3, just what is to come in the Fall and Winter. Three major updates; two free, one paid. The Bloody Harvest Event comes with “Spooky activities” and “Unique Event rewards.” You can bet that this is a Halloween-themed update coming around October. The next free update is called Maliwan Takedown which comes with an “All New Map, Challenging New Enemies,” and an “All-New Boss” for rewards. This Takedown may be one of the raids that has been mentioned since Borderlands 3’s announcement.
The last item on the roadmap does not have a name, unless they are actually calling it DLC 1. This is the first paid DLC, which is included in the season pass. With no name, there is also no details about it other than include a new campaign like all the previous Borderlands games’ DLC have had. The roadmap is titled “2019 Fall/Winter Content Calender” which basically means you can expect these updates to be spread out between launch and March 2020. Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13th on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
