Mordhau Might of Just Got Some New Competition, Chivalry 2 Has Been Announced at E3

No Need To Go Larping When You Can Just Do It From The Safety Of Your Own Home

The sequel to the Medieval online multiplayer hack and slash game has just been announced at E3 today. It was unveiled by Torn Banner Studios during the PC Gaming Show. Chivalry 2 will be an Epic Game Store exclusive for an entire year before it will be available anywhere else. Torn Banner Studios explained this decision on its website. They stated that the reasoning behind the choice was that due to their game running on the Unreal Engine and therefore the best Chivalry 2 experience would only be found on the Epic Games store. So take that for what you will. Regardless of Chivalry 2’s relative exclusivity, this news must be very exciting to the loyal fanbase that the series has amassed over the years.

The first Chivalry still has an active and enthusiastic community which keeps the seven-year-old game regularly populated with players. It has such a dedicated following that it has managed to be the main competitor of another game which has only recently come out called Mordhau.

For those unaware, the Chivalry series is a first-person game that allows the player to stab, slash, beat and bludgeon NCP’s or other real-life players to death. The game’s combat is somewhat difficult to get a hold of at first. But the learning curve is well worth it once you get the hang of it. There is nothing quite as satisfying as decapitating your friends in a duel to the death. Clans and other communities are also commonplace within the game.

The only thing that might hold this game back is that it will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for a year. Everyone, including gamers, have very short attention spans and they could easily forget about the game by the time it releases on other platforms. Only time will tell if this was the right choice.
