Details About Marvel’s Avengers Have Been Released

4-Player Co-Op, Hero Customization, and More

As stated in an article written yesterday, Marvel’s Avengers will be making a debut at E3 on June 10th. However, more details have been released in the last 24 hours. Four-player cooperative modes will be available as well as hero customization. A single player element will also be present. The game seems to have an MMO vibe to it. Marvel Avengers has been described as a game with a “continuous single-player and co-operative gameplay. ” Which sounds like something that Destiny or DC online had.

Character customization is stressed heavily too. All of the powers and abilities your character has will be up to your choosing. Not to mention clothes, accessories and other cosmetic items.

From what info was available yesterday it seemed as though this game would focus heavily on a strong and compelling story-driven narrative. But now that does not seem to be the case. It is not impossible to re-create the same feeling from a single player game into an MMO, but it is hard to do to put it frankly.

But knowing the Marvel brand, going for mass appeal shouldn’t be much of a surprise. A Division style game that allows you and your buddies to team up and fight bad guys sound fun. But it is a relatively safe choice.

Big franchises are in the business of making a lot of money. And the people over at Marvel and Disney would know more about that than anyone. The number of resources that are going to be pumped into this game should be massive as a result. It will be interesting to see how it looks in June.
