New Death Stranding Gameplay and a Release Date Have Been Revealed
Death Stranding’s release date was leaked earlier this Wednesday and was confirmed sometime afterwards during an official PlayStation stream on Twitch. Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game is launching on November 8th for the PS4.
New gameplay was also revealed during the stream and this official footage can be viewed below.
In the gameplay trailer, new characters are revealed and characters who were revealed previously are seen in new cutscenes.
The footage also reveals some of Death Stranding’s stealth mechanics, an item wheel, gunplay, melee combat, driving, and more. Kojima went into further detail about the gameplay in the tweet shown below.

Additional story details were also revealed on Wednesday.
On the official PlayStation webpage for Death Stranding, there’s a detailed story premise that can be read:
“In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.”
The webpage also gives details for the game’s pre-order bonuses and special editions.
