Call of Duty 2019 Will Be Revealed Before June Ends

Is it Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4?

During its recent earnings call, Activision has confirmed that the next Call of Duty game will have its official reveal “later this quarter.” In other words, that’s between now and June 30th.

This years’ Call of Duty is being developed by Infinity Ward, the original franchise makers. Their last game was the sci-fi centric Infinite Warfare which, depending on who you ask, had its fair share of criticism.

While speaking about the company’s financial results in Q1, Activision Publishing’s President Rob Kostich said that the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty 2019 will happen within the next two months. He also said that they “feel incredibly good about this year’s game coming from Infinity Ward [and] I think it’s going to be really clear why we’re really so excited about the release.”

While it’s easy to assume that Activision will hold out for E3 to make their big reveal, it’s also just as likely that they’ll announce it before, just like they have in previous years.

Not much is known about this years’ CoD other than the fact that it will have a single-player campaign (after last years’ Black Ops 4 scrapped it) and that it is due out in its traditional Q4 slot. Oh, it’ll also be “huge and expansive.” Activision recently showed the upcoming game to a bunch of American football players as part of their Call of Duty Partner program. Footage taken by an attendee has fans speculating that it will be Modern Warfare 4.
